Sponsor a girl

Only 5% of Tanzanian girls graduate from high school. Why?

All high schools charge fees that are unaffordable to many families. But you can help!

You can give a bright and deserving student the opportunity to attend one of the best all-girls boarding schools in the region. And you can help parents who are struggling or unable to pay their child's tuition.

How much does it cost to sponsor a scholar?

A $250 donation provides a 1-year scholarship helping one girl stay in school.

A $1000 donation provides a full 1-year scholarship, changing the world for one girl, usually an orphan. This full scholarship provides everything she needs for one academic year, including tuition, room and board, her uniform and school supplies.

What will I receive?

You will receive:

- A photo of your scholar

- Her report card

- A personal handwritten letter

100% of scholarship contributions directly benefit the students.

Can groups sponsor a girl?

Yes! You can be an individual donor or can collaborate with your family, a school group, book club or even a neighborhood!

How will I know how my student is doing in school?

You will receive your scholar's report card and a personal handwritten letter. You’ll take pride in monitoring her progress, and know that your donation has a made a huge positive impact on her life and on the lives of her family.

What does a typical school year in Tanzania look like?

The school year begins in January and ends in December. High school, or secondary school, is four years. It includes grades 9-12, known as Form 1 through Form 4. With your support, our SHARE Scholars attend one of the best all-girls boarding schools in the region, Hekima Girls’ Secondary School.
