Jade and Maci bakesale fundraiser for girls education in Africa

These Canadian girls were thrilled to put on this fundraising event for SHARE -- selling out everything in just about 2.5 hours!

They raised $160 Canadian ($130 US) and are happy it is going to send girls to school in Africa.

SHARE is proud to name John Bayeux as its volunteer of the year for 2014! The co-founder and president of the SHARE at Desales University has taken tremendous steps towards promoting awareness about female education and empowerment in Tanzania. We are so glad to have John on our team!

Cookie Jar Sales, New Jersey

Ridge High School held its first annual Women’s Leadership Summit, featuring SHARE's founder and a collection of other empowered, intelligent and hardworking female speakers. To help fundraise and raise awareness about SHARE, the Ridge chapter put together and sold homemade mason jars filled with ingredients to make double chocolate chip cookies. The day before, ten members of the club gathered at the president, Reagan Asay's house and spent three hours putting ingredients into 60 mason jars with homemade tags and hand-twirled ribbon.

Donation in lieu of Wedding favors, Ireland

One generous couple made a $500 donation to SHARE in lieu of wedding favors, to make a positive difference in two young women's lives together!

Girls on the Run, Maryland

YMCA International Fair

Thanks to the SHARE at Ridge chapter members for helping to run the Tanzanian cultural booth at the YMCA International Fair in 2013 and 2014 and spreading awareness about SHARE!

Thanks to News 12 for broadcasting SHARE in Spotlight NJ. It was a wonderful sendoff for Team SHARE as they left for their 6th trip to Tanzania!

Rice University Car Wash, Houston, TX

In February 2014, Rice University student Kenneth Misner and his fellow classmates were presented with the Gumball Challenge in their business class. The project spurred them to organize an on-campus car wash, the proceeds of which were donated to SHARE in Africa. We can't wait to see what these entrepreneurs come up with in the future!

DeSales Chapter Outstanding Organization

SHARE is so lucky to have its DeSales University SHARE Chapter! In 2014, the club received the annual Reverend James Finnegan Community Service Award for Outstanding Organization as a testament to all the hard work they have done for both SHARE and the community.

SHARE a Day

In November 2013, the SHARE chapter at Rice University hosted a SHARE A Day event, 24 hours during which Rice University students experienced the daily life of a student in Tanzania.

Activities included:

-Camp out in central quad in tents provided by ROPE

- Wake up at 4:50 AM

- Watch the documentary Half the Sky

- Basket weaving

- Paper-bead necklace crafting

- Mancala challenge

- Walk the outer loop
