Cheers to Oprah Winfrey for helping spread awareness for girls' education in Africa.  SHARE's founder was interviewed on Oprah Radio and SHARE's work was published on the Oprah’s Angel Network.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Oprah highlighted SHARE's founder, Shannon McNamara, as an “exceptional female”.

Michelle Obama

First Lady Michelle Obama congratulates Shannon McNamara on SHARE's success in promoting education in Africa.  At the International Women's Day event, the First Lady praised Shannon for "her inspiring way of being" and "her extraordinary achievements." Mrs. Obama also called Shannon "a peacemaker."

Signourney Weaver

Signourney Weaver gave praise and encouragement to SHARE's work in Tanzania at the 10th Annual Art of Giving Gala, New York City. Weaver shared that she is sponsoring a child's education in Africa and strongly agrees with SHARE's mission and philosophy. View here

Cory Booker

Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, is a huge proponent of volunteering, and very supportive of Share's work promoting girls' education in the developing world. Mr. Booker and SHARE's founder, Shannon McNamara met in New York City at the 2011 Art of Giving Benefit, an event for GenerationOn, the youth division of the Points of Light Institute. Shannonwas presented with the Hasbro Community Action Hero award.

Nate Berkus

Nate Berkus, host of NBC's The Nate Berkus Show, was so impressed with SHARE's work in Africa that he invited SHARE founder Shannon McNamara to be a guest on his show. Shannon was asked about the importance of raising the quality of education for girls in Africa.  Nate told a national audience that SHARE was "really fabulous" and "very, very cool."  

Nate Berkus is a design expert, New York Times best-selling author and a regular contributor to "The Oprah Winfrey Show" since 2002.  

Condoleezza Rice

SHARE founder Shannon McNamara had the honor of meeting former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice  in May 2010 in Washington D.C.

Dr. Rice was impressed with the charity and welcomed the SHARE brochure and DVD that Shannon offered. Dr. Rice congratulated Shannon for being honored as one of "America's Top 10 Youth Volunteers," winning a National Prudential Spirit of Community Award for her outstanding community service.

Miley Cyrus

Singer and actress Miley Cyrus gave SHARE’s founder, Shannon McNamara, a special invitation to her November 2009 concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The teen sensation met with Shannon and two additional SHARE volunteers, Bridget Bauer and Dylan Canete backstage prior to the concert.  Cyrus told the girls that “SHARE is awesome” and thought that their volunteering was "really cool." Shannon had been singled out for “doing an outstanding job volunteering and making an impact in [her] community.”

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan spoke with SHARE founder Shannon McNamara about the importance of giving adolescent girls in developing countries access to education.  The two met at Carnegie Hall in New York City at Glamour Magazine's "Women of the Year" event on November 8, 2010.  The Queen was presented with Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year award and is a Girl Up Global Advocate.

Nigel Barker

Nigel Barker, renowned fashion photographer, author, and judge on the reality show "America's Next Top Model," has volunteered in Tanzania and has seen first hand the difficulties for African girls.  Nigel spoke with SHARE founder Shannon McNamara in Washington, D.C. at the U.N. Girl Up Pep Rally on January 12, 2011. He was very interested in hearing about SHARE's work in the East African country. 

Landon Donovan, Captain LA Galaxy, and Juan Pablo, Captain, NY Red Bulls

The Red Bull Arena lit up on the night of August 14, 2010, in front of a sold out crowd of 25,000 fans for the New York Red Bulls vs. Los Angeles Galaxy match.  SHARE founder Shannon McNamara had the honor of doing the official coin toss to start the game. Shannon was also introduced to Landon Donovan, Captain of the L.A. Galaxy, and Juan Pablo, Captain of the N.Y. Red Bulls.

The SHARE video presented at half-time detailed SHARE's mission to deliver a more promising future to less fortunate children in Africa. It was an amazing evening.

Senator Robert Menendez

SHARE founder, Shannon McNamara, had the opportunity to visit with U.S. Senator Robert Menendez in his office on Capitol Hill.  Senator Menendez was very impressed with SHARE's accomplishments.
